In July, a client was arrested after the police mistook the handgun she was possessing for another type of legal weapon. The minor charge for possession was ultimately legal, but because of the error, they were able to proceed to have a misdemeanor charge for Resisting an Officer dropped to a mere ticket. Further, the case was eventually sensitive enough to have the remaining charge dismissed by the City Attorney’s office. The law firm has obtained a record expungement and the arrest and misdemeanor conviction were eventually wiped off of the client’s record.
In April, a client who had been previously denied asylum status in the U.S. reached out to our offices for legal representation when he sought to adjust his status and obtain a green card . Because of our firm’s previous history of successful aiding many others like him, we were able to charge a flat fee instead of the usual payment structure, and with continued diligence, obtain his green card within 2 months of our initial conversation.
In June, BB was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence Assault and Domestic Violence Simple Assault in Maine after a heated argument with his wife, a citizen of the United States.
